BT-115 Conductivity Cell (EC)
Assemble your pure membrane sample into the Conductivity Cell. The Conductivity Cell is then assembled into your ElectroChem fuel cell hardware. Connect the fuel cell hardware to your test stand to control the temperature, humidity, gas, and pressure of the membrane sample under test. Connect the platinum wires to your potentiostat to apply voltage and measure current. The Conductivity Cell is designed for an in-plane, four-electrode measurement.
The advantage of the four-electrode conductivity measurement is the ability to separate the following measurements:
- voltage drop due to ion creation
- voltage drop due to ion flow
By considering only voltage drops due to ion flow, accurate assessments of membrane conductivity (and resistivity) can be made.
Operating Parameters:
- Temperature: To 120C
- Gas Flow Rates: Determined by your test stand parameters
- Pressure: Determined by your test stand parameters
- Use with the Fuel Cell Technologies 5, 10, and 25 cm2 fuel cell test hardware
Features of the BekkTech Conductivity Cell:
- Tests pure membrane samples. Assembly into an MEA is not required.
- In-plane, four electrode technique
- Control of humidity and pressure using your existing fuel cell test system
- High temperature testing (to 120C)
- Internal clamp is removable allowing you to use the clamp for tests in a beaker or a humidity chamber
